On November 14th Moon Racing driver Benny Moon was forced out of the race after completing only half of the first lap at the Las Vegas Karting Center track. After posting the fastest practice times during thursdsay and friday practice, Ben blew a motor before qualifying and then struggled during his qualifying laps in the evening. He qualified 13th out of 34. When the green flag flew at the start of the Main Event Benny moved from 14th to 7th before the first turn. Three turns later the the driver behind him made a dive bomb move and flew over the top of Ben damaging Ben's Margay Kart and taking himself out of the race. Ben tried to continue with a damaged Kart and sore knee from the incident but was hit again by another Kart before he could get up to speed. Unfortunately this shot Ben off the track, his race was finished before it started.
This will most likely be Benny's last race as a junior as he will be moving up to the senior classes next season. "This was my last chance to win a National Championship and I'm really disappointed with what happened but really looking forward to next season."
