Benny Moon Wins Pro Moto Heat Race at Super Nationals!
On November 10th at the SKUSA Super Nationals Benny Moon 125cc Super Pro driver brought his Paul Tracy Kart in for his long awaited first Pro Moto 125cc win! After having a tough 125cc rookie season the heat race win was exciting not only for Ben and his team but the entire pit area was excited for the young Pro Moto driver. With a large grin on his face Benny received numerous pats on the back and thumbs up from his fellow competitors and friends when he arrived at the scales. He finished the remaining two heat races in 5th place which gave him a 4th place starting position for Sunday's main event. Ben got a great start in the main but had to give it up when teammate and friend A.J. Almendinger got a slow start directly in front of him. Ben allmost launched onto A.J.s bumper and came out of turn one in 11th place. He drove a stellar race for 15 of 30 laps when his front tires began to loose grip due to an overstuck condition at the rear of his Pual Tracy machine. His tunner / father claimed responsibility for the problem as he had been tunning for a loose track condition all week and was afriad to "unstick" the rear end. Ben finished an impressive 6th out of the talented 35 kart field. His fastest lap matched that of the 1st through 4th place finishers. It was definately the best week of the season for the young pilot who is hoping for even better results in the coming 2002 season!
