Sixteen year old Justin Moon has signed with Gelles Racing to drive in the 2005 Formula BMW USA series. Formula BMW is a premier driver development series where young racers from around the world come to hone their racing skills in preparation for a career in Formula Car racing. Justin was one of 5 drivers hand picked by BMW to receive a scholarship to help him race in the Formula BMW USA series! Gelles racing then offered matching funds to assist Justin in his 2005 season. Justin has been hard at work testing with the Gelles race team two to three times per month at tracks that include Road Atlanta, South Carolina Motorsports Park and Robeling Road in Savannah Georgia.
The Formula BMW season begins at Laguna Seca April 29th with the ALMS series. Races include the Canadian and US Grand Prix with Formula 1, Mid Ohio and Road Atlanta with the ALMS, and the streets of Denver with Champ Car. The BMW scholarship Justin received includes financial assistance along with personal training in physical and mental fitness and race car preparation!
